Thermoregulation  [ Return towards  Chemicals & Petrochemicals  ]

You need to:

Cool your chemical reactors to low or very low temperatures? Monitor chemical reaction rate? Reduce by-product formation and improve stereo-specificity?

Thermoregulation is inseparable from organic synthesis processes. It guarantees good reactional outputs and participates in maintaining the facility safety.
ALASKA, the Air Liquide range of cold power stations, allows precise control of your chemical reactions when very low temperatures (-40°C to -140°C) are required.

Principle:

ALASKA ensures thermoregulation of reactors by circulation of a cooling fluid cooled with liquid nitrogen. It is an environmentally friendly source of refrigerates, particularly adapted to very low temperatures. Its high refrigerated power allows the safe control of the exothermic reaction (for example, the synthesis of penicillin from 6-APA).

Advantages:

Wide range of thermalization (-140°C to + 230°C) High stability of temperature Fast implementation Compactness No heat exchanger corrosion risk caused by the chemical environment Low investment Reduced maintenance Recuperation of nitrogen (non polluted) at the exchanger outlet for blanketing or drying applications
