Argon [ Return towards Standard gases ]
Present in the atmosphere at the level of 0.9%, the argon is a neutral and colorless gas as the nitrogen.
It does not maintain the life.
It is widely used by industrials, due to its high level of chemical slowness:
- avoids the oxidation of pigments;
- limits the proliferation of bacteria;
- protects food against the destruction;
- reduces the respiratory coefficient of the raw vegetables;
- inflate the car's air bags;
- etc.
