Fish farming [ Return towards  Agriculture / Fish farming / Greenhouses  ]

Consumption of farmed fish is growing rapidly. The control of oxygen concentration is one of the keys to succeed in hatching and rearing of fish.

Trends towards intensive fish farming mean that adequate concentrations of dissolved oxygen are necessary to balance natural decrease of oxygen in water.

Compared with oxygenation using air, the benefits of using additional pure oxygen are:

  • A better oxygen transfer into the water
  • A more efficient feed conversion ratio, and thus an improved growth
  • An better resistance to pathogenic organisms
  • A better scraps decomposition to avoid water pollution
