Environmental Issues in Electronic Components & Products [ Return towards  Electronic Components & Products  ]

You want to optimize and ensure a reliable production. Environment's respect is your concern while at the same time optimizing and ensuring a reliable production.

Air Liquide supports you in this field.

Environment
G. Rosengreen

Air Liquide applies lead free technologies for a better environment. As an example, the lead-free wave soldering with Nitrogen allows you to:

  • reduce the quantity of dross by 50-99%.
  • reduce flux consumption from 50-70%.
  • reduce defects, such as shorts, icicles, bridges, no wetting, etc.
  • reduce PCB contamination.
  • lower the bath temperature.
  • reduce wetting time.
  • increase useful operating time of the machine by reducing cleaning stops.

Lead-free reflow soldering increases the flexibility of your processes with nitrogen. The use of lead-free alloys causes a reduction in the window for the reflow soldering process: reducing soldering ability, narrowed thermal profile, risks of PCB contamination after soldering, etc. In this case nitrogen allows you to:

  • widen the process window.
  • use less active "no clean" pastes.
  • improve reproducibility.
  • reduce the reflow temperature.
  • improve wetting.
  • improve the mechanical strength of solder joints.
  • reduce voids.
